Ankara CastleThe foundations of the citadel or castle were laid by the Galatians and the rest was completed by the Romans. The Byzantines and Seljuqs further made restorations and additions. The area around and inside the citadel, being the oldest part of Ankara, contains many fine examples of traditional architecture. There are also recreational areas to relax. Many restored traditional Turkish houses inside the citadel area have found new life as restaurants, serving local cuisine.

Museum of Anatolian Civilizations The Museum, which was given the Award for the Museum of the Year in Europe in 1997, displays a rich variety of Anatolian archeological artifacts also including the finds pertaining to Çatalhöyük (a major ancient mound in the Province of Konya), Hittite and Urartu in a chronological order from the Paleolitic Age to the present times.

The Temple of AugustusThe Temple of Augustus which is located next to Hacı Bayram Mosque in Ulus was built as a sign of loyalty to Roman Emperor Augustus. The temple was converted into a church in the Byzantine period. Hacı Bayram Mosque was built immediately northwest of the temple at the onset of the 15th century.
Çengelhan Rahmi Koç Museumis a museum of industrial technology situated in Çengelhan, an Ottoman Era caravanserai. The exhibits include industrial/technological artifacts from 1850s onwards.
